Best Way For Reupholstering Leather Chair With Fabric

  1. Remove: Start the process by removing existing upholstery, carefully remove all the tacks and staples with the needle nose pliers. Try to not rip the old upholstery as it can be used as a template for the new one. The user can also take the pictures while removing existing upholstery and staples, the pictures can be used for reference to new fabric and staples installation.
  2. Old Batting: The next step is to remove the old batting from the chair and remove the upholstery tacks with needle-nose pliers. After that insert the new batting in the cushions, arms as well as the back of the chair. To secure the batting use the rubber mallet on the hammer.
  3. Cut The New Fabric: In order to cut the new fabric add the removed fabric on the new one and then trace around the fabric to cut accordingly but keep fabric 2 or 3 inches overhanging.
  4. Back: Now the user needs to position the fabric on the back of the chair. Carefully tuck the sides of the fabric on the frame until it becomes tight.
  5. Seat: Once the back is done then lay the new fabric over the seat chair. In order to taut the fabric to the frame tuck it underneath.
  6. Arms: Drape the fabric on the arms of the chair. Carefully fold the back of the fabric in a one-third way to forward then make a slit in the center of the fold. Then cover the exposed area by Wrapping the loose ends around the back of the arm. Then staple it in the right place. Repeat the process for the other arm as well.
