Slide the new circular-shaped cylinder into position and secure it into place using the metal retaining clip. Indistinctly fix the new metal locking plate into place before inserting the key in order to find out which way it turns. Adjust the location of the metal locking plate and then fasten the screw to finish.

Cabinets are mostly composed of thin metals that are very easy to operate. Unlock the cabinet door and find out the inward dejections caused by dents. With the help of a flat finishing hammer, smoothly tap the outer perimeter of each dejection to force the dent outwards. As soon as the dents start to vanish, work the hammer towards the center of the dejection until the majority of the damage is eliminated. Knockdown any high marks on the outer parts of the cabinet smoothly using the same hammer and sand around the rest of the dent in order to provide a keyed, sticky surface for body filler. Put on a light application of body filler over the dent and then let it dry wholly.

Way 3: Scratches And Priming

In order to make the repairing process smooth, use an oscillating tool supplied with a hook and loop pad accessory. Sand first with the help of 120-grit sandpaper & then 220-grit sandpaper. Sand out casual scratches with the help of a 320-grit sanding disk positioned on a random orbital sander. Make sure that the paint edges are equally covered as the scratches are eliminated in order to minimize the risk of ring marks when painting the metal cabinet. Put on 3 coats of primer over body filler and bare metal before allowing it to dry & then sanding with the help of 320-grit abrasive. Finish the remaining of the cabinet with the help of a fine-grade sanding pad in order to create a keyed, sticky surface for paint. Get rid of the excess dust with the help of a can of compressed air. Cleanse the metal cabinet with the help of a degreaser and dry rigorously before painting.
