Remove Grease Stain From Wood: Procedure To Remove

Procedure To Remove Grease Stain From Wood

Grease is a sticky substance that adheres on to the wooden surface and causes problems while cleaning. In order to clean the grease stain from the wood surface, the user needs to follow the below-given procedure:
  1. Blot The Stain:
The first step will be to blot the grease stain on the wood surface using a paper towel, washcloth, or sponge. The user needs to make sure that he doesn't apply much pressure or try to wipe the grease stain as it will eventually result in spreading the grease. Also, the user can dampen the blot tool of his choice in order to soak a good amount of grease from the stain. The step can sometimes be enough to remove a grease stain if the stain is treated early enough. Apart from that, in order to deal with large stains, it has been recommended by the experts to use a cat litter for soaking the excess grease.
  2. Apply White Vinegar Solution:
The next step will be to apply a white vinegar solution on to the remaining grease stain. First, the user needs to prepare a solution by mixing white wine vinegar and warm water in equal parts. After that, the user needs to soak a sponge or washcloth into the solution and then apply it on to the stained area. It has been recommended by the experts to try wiping the grease stain off in circular motion without applying too much pressure. If required, the user can perform the step several times in order to get the entire grease stain off the wood. Once the stain is removed, the user needs to dry the area with clean washcloth or sponge.
  3. Apply Dishwashing Liquid Solution:
In case, the grease stain doesn't get removed with a White Vinegar Solution, The user can switch to another homemade cleaning solution. First, the user needs to mix warm water and a teaspoon of dishwashing liquid in a spray bottle and shake the bottle well until the cleaning solution gets ready. After that, the user needs to spray the solution on to the grease stain and wait for 5 minutes until it gets soaked in. Once the solution is soaked, the user needs to clean the stain in circular motions by using a clean washcloth or sponge. If required, the user can re-spray the stain several times in order to remove the grease stain completely. At last, the user needs to dry the area using a paper towel, washcloth, or sponge.

Note: If the grease stain remains after following the above procedure, the user can switch to a professional wood cleaner.
