Items You Will Need

  • Screw Gun
  • Bottom Mount Metal Drawer Slides
  • 1/2-Inch Screws

Steps To Install Drawer Slides

  1. First of all, you need to remove the drawer from your cabinet keeping it aside. Start measuring from the end of your drawer to the back of your drawer front. You only need to measure the length of your box, buy metal runners accordingly, rounding off to next inch below.
  2. Once done, now place your drawer on your worktable. If your drawer has any existent hardware or runners then first you need to get rid of them all with the help of a screw gun.
  3. Next you need to select runner marked "DL" and then place it on the left side of your drawer. Your drawer should be on its side. The front side of your drawer should be the left due to the fact that your runner will fit flush along with the bottom edge of your drawer. Now the wheel will be at back with the front of your runner & tight against the back of your drawer front. Now you have to screw all your runner to your drawer box with the help of a screw gun & 1/2 inch screws, you can see holes in the runner for this purpose.
  4. Next you need to turn drawer over so that the front of your drawer is right side now & then place your runner marked "DR" on this side & then screw it on.
  5. Once done, now select your runner marked "CL". Place it on the left side of the opening of your drawer. Place this marked end at the front. Fit the small plate(90-degree) over the edge of opening tight into your left-hand corner and then place one screw in the oval-shaped hole in that plate & screw it perpendicular down into the rail. All these screws should be only gently screwed because you can adjust them later.
  6. Now, reach into the opening of your drawer. On the back of your metal runner, you will see a small sliding plate. Slide this plate all the way back until it contacts another rail. Place the screw in the oval-shaped screw hole in your plate. Reach in with the help of a cordless gun & then screw the plate to the back rail gently.
  7. Once done now select the runner marked "CR" & place it on the right side of your drawer opening and then simply screw it to the back & front as you do before with the other rail.
  8. Tilt your drawer up at a 30-degree angle and then you need to insert the small wheels on the back of your drawer into two slots(small) in your drawer runners on your cabinet. When the wheels engage with the runners then tilt your drawer down & slide it into your cabinet.
  9. Finally you need to tap your runners to the right or left as required if your drawer binds or will not glide in & out easily of your drawer unstrained. You can now feel that which side needs to be adjusted by moving your drawer in & out as you tip it slenderly from side to side. The oval-shaped holes allow your runners to move easily. When your drawer moves freely then you need to tighten all the screws. Add another screw to an alternative hole on both plates & tighten to finish your work.
