How To Wax A Floor Without A Buffer: Procedure To Wax

Procedure To Wax A Floor Without Buffer

Waxing is an alternate method of floor polishing that gives a renewed shine to the floor along with protection from several damages. In order to wax a floor without a buffer, the user needs to follow the below-given steps:
  1. Prepare The Floor:
Before starting to wax a floor, the user needs to prepare the floor by removing all the objects from it. In case, the floor is already finished, the user needs to strip it off with a floor finish stripper suited for the flooring type.
  2. Clean The Floor:
First, the user needs to clean the entire floor with a mop and try to remove as many small particles as possible from the floor. The user needs to make sure that nothing is left behind on the floor as it can get caught in the wax and will stay there until the wax will not be stripped.
  3. Make Necessary Preparations:
The next step after that will be to get a flat wax applier mop or sponge mop with which the wax should be applied on to the floor. It has been recommended by the experts to use a new mop even if the existing mop doesn't look dirty because the already used mops are most likely to introduce dirt into the wax. Also, the user requires a bucket lined with a garbage bag on which he has to fill in the floor wax.
  4. Apply Wax With A Mop:
After that, the user needs to dip mop inside the wax and wring out excess wax from it. The mop has to be pressed with the sides of the bucket to get excess wax out because the mop has to be dampened rather than dipping or dry. The user needs to apply wax on to the floor with a mop by working into small sections. It has been recommended by the experts to start waxing from the extreme end of the room so that the user can finish waxing at the exit. Apart from that, the user needs to make sure that the wax coat is very thin and even because the thick coat can make the entire process fail.
  5. Apply Second Coat Of Wax:
The last step in the process will be to let the first coat of wax dry completely that should take around an hour. The user can fasten the drying speed by putting a fan into the room after letting the wax dry naturally for 10 minutes. After the first coat dries, the user can apply several other coats of wax to the floor by following the same procedure. If required, the user can buff the floor with a clean terry cloth by polishing the surface in circular motions.
