Steps To Separate Sectional Into Two Different Pieces

Two connected of the couch is mostly known as sectionals. Sectionals can easily take up large areas of your room, depending on the location and size in your room. In order to get a new & different look, you may need to separate your sectionals. However, sectional units have the hardware, like a connector assembly, that this will need to be removed first. If you want to turn your sectionals into a couch then you need to follow the given steps to get the better result of your hard work.

Method 1: Separate the Pieces

Here are the easy steps to do this:
  • First pull away the sectional from your wall and then you need to find where are the two pieces of the sectionals are connected.
  • Now, you have to lift up on the end of 1 section where it is attached to the different sections. The L-bracket will then disconnect from the connector plate.
  • After disconnecting the connector plate now, pull the 2 sections of the couch apart at least six inches.

Method 2: Remove Connector Assembly

  • First, take the cushions off of each section of your couch and then turn each section of your couch so the back is positioned on your floor.
  • Next, locate the L-bracket on one of your couch sections then remove all the screws which are securing the plate of your sofa with the help of power drill. After doing the drilling process, now you need to take off L-bracket and them keep that brackets aside
  • After following the previous step now, check for other sections of your couch there will be the connector plate of your couch. Turn the connector plate in (180) degrees to point it in the alternate direction. Remove the two outside screws and take the connector plate off.
  • Finally, set the two sections of your couch upright and replace the cushions.
