In order to give the cabinet a new look then the stripping is an important process which needs to be done before heading towards the refinishing. The stripping process is very easy to do, just apply the stripper and then after some time scrap the finish.
  1. Remove: The first step is to remove all the cabinet drawers, doors with the help of the screwdriver, hinges and handles as well. Store all the items at a safe place so that it will be used later again.
  2. Stripper: Before applying the stripper it is better to wear the rubber gloves, then apply the coat of the stripper to the surface but one section at a time, then wait for 10 minutes until the old finish loosens up.
  3. Scrap: Once the old finish is loosened then start scraping with the help of the putty knife, start the scraping process from the top end and slowly towards the bottom end. Continue the process for the rest of the surfaces or drawers.
  4. Tight Spots Or Corners: In order to scrap the paint in the tight spots or corners use the Popsicle sticks or pointed sticks. After the stripping is done allow the cabinet to dry for at least one hour.
  5. Sand: At last sand the scrapped area lightly with the help of the hand block having the 100-grit sandpaper.
