  1. Choose: First of all, choose the wood that is strong enough to withstand all the conditions like Tight-grained hardwoods which are seasoned or kiln-dried that is very less prone to split than other green woods or softwoods.
  2. Seal: The best option to seal the wood is to use the linseed oil or use the sanding sealer as early as possible after the shaping work is finished.
  3. Exterior Sealer: In order to reduce the expansion or contradiction during the sunny and rainy season use the best quality exterior sealer that is used for decks, building handrails, or at other outdoor building products.
  4. Exposure: If possible try to reduce the direct exposure to the sunlight because the rapid drying can result in wood to split.
  5. Curing Period: For the even drying stack the green wood during the curing process. The other way is to paint the ends of the larger lumber that will help the moisture to evaporate slowly.
  6. Knotty Or Burl Woods: The woods with the knotty or burl uneven, gnarly, is even with the crooked grains are less or not prone to cracking as straight grains wood are.
