Sometimes with the time or to give the updated look to the interiors light hardwood floors can be stained darker for more enhancement and lavishness. This is not so tedious or hard task and can be perfectly done by following the simple method.

Easy Steps To Darken The Hardwood Floors

Some of the easy steps to darken the hardwood floors are mentioned as below.
  1. Refinishing Kit: Prior proceeding with the staining getting a recoating kit or refinishing kit is recommended.
  2. Empty Room: Empty entire room by removing the furniture and follow by vacuuming to clean all the dust and dirt.
  3. Wipe Off: Once done with vacuuming the floor needs to be wiped off using the soft wet cloth.
  4. Liquid Etcher And Sanding: The floor needs to be scrubbed using the abrasive pad and liquid etcher. Try to focus on the small floor sections rather than completing entire at once. Ensure to scrub in the direction of the grains.
  5. Mop And Touch Up: Prepare the cleaning solution using water and dishwashing liquid. Dip the soft clean mop into the solution to rub the entire floor with the same. This step is required in order to eliminate the residue of the liquid etcher.
  6. Application: Apply the oil-based desired stain immediately using the paintbrush. Let the stain dry for eight hours.

Note: Bring back the furniture in the room only after 24 hours only.
