Easy Procedure & Items Needed To Spray Paint Evenly

Spraying the paint evenly is not an easy task as it requires the special technique to do it in a proper way. It is very necessary to have the perfect tools and the materials so as to cover up their working surface and their body. The users can easily spray paint evenly at home by gathering the below-mentioned materials and then following the below-described procedure:

Materials Required

  • Primer
  • Spray Paint
  • Drop Cloths Or Newspapers
  • Gloves, Mask & Glasses
  • Painter's Tape & Old Clothes

Part I- Prepare The Surface

  • Assembling The Materials: Usually the spray paint is available in many color variations among which the users can choose any option as per their choice. They also need to use the drop cloth so as to cover up their working area from getting paint spills.
  • Use The Painter's Tape: The users are advised to work in the well spacious area as the spray paint usually consists of the strong fumes that can easily damage the human lungs. The users are also advised that the spray paint won't fit well if the outside area is having the cold or wet temperature. Therefore, cover up those areas where they don't want to apply the spray paint by using the painter's tape.
  • Use The Sawhorse: If the users are spray painting those items that can easily sit on the sawhorse then they need to use it so as to suspend their furnishing item in the air. This technique helps in fastly painting the item as the users won't have to bend again and again.
  • Use The Paintbox: If the users are spray painting a small item then they are advised to place in a box and then paint it accordingly. By doing this it will reduce down the change of getting the paint spills over the floor or on any other item.
  • Clean The Surface: The users need to clean up all the dust and the debris particles from the surface of the item by using the damp rag. If the item is having the tough greasy stains then the users are advised to sue the mild stain to clean up that area and then allow the item to get dried off completely. If in case the item is having the rough surface then the users are advised to use the fine-grit sandpaper so as to make a smooth surface accordingly.

Part II- Applying The Useful Techniques

  • Wear The Protective Gear: Start by wearing the protective gear before the users start the painting procedure. They need to wear a mask, glasses, and gloves. The glasses will protect their eyes from the paint blows as the spray paint is very toxic in nature and eventually the gloves and masks are very important.
  • Apply The Primer Layer: Then the users need to apply the layer of the primer and to do so they need to shake well the primer can for almost 4 minutes before applying it. Then they need to spray the primer over the entire surface of the item in the back and the forth motion and then allow the primer layer to get dried off completely. The primer layer helps in making an even paint finish on the item.
  • Do The Spot Test: Then they need to shake the paint can well for almost 4 minutes before they apply it. Shaking of the paint will help in mixing up the paint. Before applying the paint the users need to do the spot test and to do so they need to apply it over the cardboard piece as this will help the users in getting the idea that how this paint will look on the item.

Part III- Apply The Paint

  • Apply The First Coat: Start by applying the one layer of the paint over the entire surface of the item and the users are advised to apply the paint in the slow-motion so that the item will get an even paint layer. They do not need to place the can nozzle at one point and they need to overlap each paint spray so that the gaps won't be present in any of the areas. The users need to hold up the paint can at near about eight inches from the surface of the item and then move the paint can in the back and the forth motion. The users are advised not to apply the heavy paint coats as it can result in the paint drips. Then they need to allow the paint to get dried off completely for almost one day.
  • Apply The 2nd And The Final Coat: Once the first paint is dried completely then the users need to apply the second layer of the paint in the same process and allow it to get dried off before applying the final coat in the same way. Once the users applied the final coat they are advised to allow the item to get dried off completely for almost 1-2 days.
