Ways To Spot Repair Hardwood Floor Finish

There are different ways by which the customer can repair spots on the hardwood floor finish. Some of the ways are mentioned below:
  1. A thin coat of floor wax can be applied on the shallow scratches of the floor with the help of soft cloth and extra wax is removed and the floor surface is cleaned.
  2. The food stain can be removed from the floor surface by using a damp cloth. If the stain still resists on the floor surface then slightly wet the cotton balls by dipping them into hydrogen peroxide and put them on the stained area of the floor. Again dip cotton balls in ammonia and place them on the top layer of the previous cotton balls. Wait for some time until the cotton balls soak up the stain from the floor and then clean the floor surface with a clean cloth and leave it to dry.
  3. The water stain can be removed from the floor surface by using steel wool. If the stain is far down in the floor finish then use sandpaper and smoothly, sand the surface of the floor until the stain gets removed off from the floor surface. Clean the dust from the floor surface by using a wood floor cleaner. Then allow it to dry and apply wax on it.
  4. The black shoe marks can be removed from the floor surface by dipping the steel wool in the floor wax and rubbing it on the affected area. Then clean the floor surface with the help of a clean cloth.
