Step By Step Process Of Spot Cleaning A Wool Rug

The wool rug is a charming expenditure for your floors. This kind of rug is durable, stain-resistant, and the best thing is that your wool rug is environmentally friendly. The life span of your wool rug is near about 50 years if cared properly. Nonetheless, there are some things you should keep in mind to keep your wool rug clean always, like vacuuming repeatedly, blot spills instantly, and also use a steamer at least once a year. If you want to spot clean your wool rug then you just need to go through the below-mentioned step by step process carefully:
  • Firstly, scrape up any solids and blot spills instantly. Wool spontaneously deters liquids from spellbinding into the rug fibers but it doesn't mean that you should let the spilled drink or food get a chance to stain. Scoop up any solids without letting them dig deeper into your rug & blot, don't rub spills with your dry paper towel.
  • You can also use plain water on wet stains. If the spill is fresh then plain warm water will presumably suffice on your wool rug. Fill your water bottle with warm water, simply spray a little amount of water on your spill after you've blotted all that you can. Gently rub the warm water onto your stain with your soft cloth or your sponge and then blot any extra water up with your dry cloth or your paper towel.
  • Remove any pet accidents with vinegar and baking soda. Baking soda will easily absorb any odor and white vinegar will also help you to disinfect the area. Predominantly sprinkle baking soda on your stain and then let it sit for at least 30 minutes then vacuum it. Make your cleaning solution out of 1/2 cup (120 mL) vinegar, 2 cups (470 mL) water and 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 mL) of the liquid dishwasher detergent, and follow this guidance:
    1. Dip your clean cloth or your sponge in your cleaning solution and then wring it out.
    2. Gently rub your stain by using circular movements.
    3. Rub your water-dampened sponge or you can also use your cloth over the affected area to rinse and then blot with your paper towel.
  • You need to blot stubborn stains with the help of mineral turpentine. Simply remove any stubborn stains like oil, rust, crayon, and lipstick with the mineral turpentine. If you don't have this then you can also use thinner at home, Just soak your clean rag in the turpentine & gently dab and then blot the affected stain with it.
  • Simply use your wool detergent and vinegar to clean any water-based stains. Whether you need to flush mineral turpentine or you need to clean stains like juice or coffee, an approved wool detergent, and white vinegar will clean your wool rug right up. Mix one teaspoon (4.9 mL) of your wool detergent, 1 teaspoon (4.9 mL) of your white vinegar & 4.25 cups (1.01 L) of warm water. Dampen your cloth in your solution and then gently rub & dab the stain, and use a water-dampened sponge to remove your cleaner.
  • Blot all water up with your white dry paper towel and let the stain affected area dry for nearly 4-5 hours.
