The steps to make a slipcover for a sofa are mentioned below:
  1. Buy The Slipcover Material: Before starting the process buy the best quality fabric, the best option is to select the fabric in solid colors.
  2. Wash The Slipcover Material: The washing is important because this will soften the fabric and also accounts for any kind of the shrinkage that may occur in future washing.
  3. Iron: Before working on the slipcover it is best to iron the material.
  4. Muslin Or Butcher Paper: Now Drape the sofa with the cheap muslin or butcher paper and then tuck it loosely. Now, this is the pattern making process so please make sure, whether to go for a close-fitting slipcover or one that drapes more loosely.
  5. Pattern: Now Mark the sections with chalk, mark the section like outside back of the sofa, seating area, arms, etc.
  6. Cut Out The Pattern Sections: Now Cut out the pattern sections according to the chalked lines with the help of the scissors.
