  1. Remove: The first step is to remove all the old fabric from the chair. It totally depends on the design of the chair, whether or not to remove the trim which is to be glued on with a pair of pliers.

  3.   5. Drill Holes: In case there is a need to drill out the holes in the new foam then use the large drill bit 3/16-inch or larger. Make a diamond pattern holes. Now the user needs to line up the foam on the chipboard and use a upholstery needle or a small drill bit to make the 2 pinholes inside each of the holes in foam.
  6. Glue: Using the spray adhesive glue the foam backing to the chipboard.
  7. Polyester Batting: After the gluing is done then place the polyester batting and fabric on the foam backing, carefully push the fabric and batting through the holes exactly in the backing in which the buttons will go.
  8. Buttons: Now the next step is to create fabric covered buttons by following the instructions that comes with the kit, however its advisable to use the same fabric used for the chair or the user can use other color as well.
  9. Fix Button: To fix the button thread a upholstery needle start Working from behind, push the needle in one of the pinholes in the chipboard and foam. Guide the needle to fabric-covered button and then back through the hole in the foam and chipboard. Make few passes to a secure button at last pull the thread tight and fix it off at the back.
  10. Staple And Trim: Put the foam and backing into the chair and staple the edges of the fabric all the way around. Trim the excess fabric once done.
