  • Button Kit & Large Upholstery Needle
  • Polyester Batting & Hot Glue Gun
  • Spray Adhesive & Pliers
  • Staple Remover & Staple Gun

Steps

  • Detach: Start by detaching the pre-existing fabric from the surface of the chair and as per the chair design the users may need to detach the trim by using the pliers or the users may also need to detach all the staples by using the staple remover.
  • Mark The Chair Piece: Detaching the chair fabric the users need to take care in marking the chair piece location as this will help the users to retrieve the re-assembling process of the chair.
  • Trim: The users then need to trim the pattern from the brand-new fabric. They need to iron down the pre-existing pieces and then place them over the top surface of the new one and they then need to trace down the pattern, lover the new one by using the fabric pen. Then use the sharp-edged scissors to trim down the new fabric pieces and then affix them together. If in case the chair is having the fabric backing then the users need to staple down the new fabric inside the chair frame at the backside.
  • Check Foam Padding: The users then need to check the foam padding of the chair and if they find out that the foam padding is damaged then the users need to trim the new padding by following the design pattern of the old one.
  • Drill Bit: Then the users need to use the large drill bit so as to drill out the holes in the new foam padding if required. They need to form the diamond shape with all the holes that are at a distance from one another. The users need to arrange the new foam padding over the surface of the chipboard and then use up the needle or the bit drill of the small size so as to form the 2 pinholes through the foam padding.
  • Glue Down: The users then need to glue down the foam padding over the chipboard surface by using the spray adhesive. Then they need to place the batting of the polyester fabric and the new trimmed fabric over the top surface of the foam padding and then gently thrust the new fabric and the polyester batting through the drilled holes where the fabric buttons will get affixed in future.
  • Build: Then the users need to build the fabric buttons and they are advised to choose the same fabric for the buttons that they are using for the chair. However, they can also choose the complementary colour. Once the buttons are crafted they need to affix it to the drilled holes at the backing of the chair by using the needle and the thread.
  • Lay: The users then need to lay the foam padding and the polyester backing over the frame of the chair and then staple down the fabric edges all around the chair frame. Arrange the fabric edges in a tight manner and then cut off all the unneeded fabric by using the sharp scissors.
  • Add: Once the fabric is attached to the chair the users then need to add the ornamented trim to the chair border by applying the hot glue over it with the help of the glue gun.
  • Repeat: Repeat the same procedure while attaching the fabric to the seat and then affix back the chair seat by using the saved screws and nuts. Then, at last, the users need to place the ornamented trim to the back of the chair by using the hot glue.
