Reupholster a kitchen chair back is very important in order to make it comfortable for the user. The steps to reupholster a kitchen chair back with fabric or vinyl are given below:
- Remove The Seat Cushion: First of all turn the chair upside down to check how the cushions are attached, most of the chairs have screws underneath.
- Loosen The Staples: Then loosen the staple that is holding the fabric down, loosen the staple with the staple remover or knife carefully.
- Remove The Fabric/Vinyl Staples: Now use the needle-nose pliers to remove the staples from the cushions carefully, once the staples are removed then keep the stuffing in its place.
- Cut The Fabric/Vinyl: Trace down the new fabric according to the old fabric, cut down the new fabric using the old fabric as a guide. The amount of the fabric will depend on the thickness of the cushion, in case the user is adding more cushion then more fabric will be required.
- Staple The Corners Or Edges: Pull the fabric/Vinyl upon one side of the cushion and staple it several times diagonally, in case of the round cushions then pick a spot to begin the stapling.
- Secure The Fabric/Vinyl: Begin from the corners pull the fabric tight and start stapling, wrap the fabric in the same way as gifts are wrapped.
- Trim Around The Edges: Once the stapling is finished and the fabric is tight, then trim the extra fabric and cut the fabric 1 inch beyond the staple.
- Reassemble The Chair: At last reassemble the chair in the same pattern as it was before.
