List Of Required Items

  • Doorstop & Light-gauge cardboard
  • Scissors & Insulated copper wire, 14-gauge
  • Wire cutters & All-purpose glue
  • Push-pin, Damp sponge & Pliers

Steps For This Project

  • First of all, you need to open your door halfway & stabilize it with a doorstop under the outer edge.
  • Now, count the number of splits, or in other words, cracked slats and then use the scissors to cut 2-inch-wide strips of cardboard(light-gauge) that will be long enough to wrap around a slat one & a half times.
  • Next you have to cut a 12-inch long piece of 14-gauge seclude electrical wire for each repair of the slat by using the wire cutters. Stage this strips of cardboard & pieces of wire nearby.
  • Now, rupture the tip of a bottle of your glue(all-purpose) with the point of the push-pin and then apply an unassuming amount of glue into the seam of split slats or cracked slats at a louver door. Congestion the upper & lower edges of your louver door together & remove any extra glue by using a damp sponge.
  • Now you have to insert one end of the cardboard strip into the opening just above or below the louver door & wrap this cardboard around the louver door at the repair area.
  • Next, wrap sequester wire piece around your louver door at the cardboard and then twist the ends of the wire together with pliers & tighten the twist against the cardboard at the lower edge of your louver door. Once finished, now allow the all-purpose glue to dry for overnight before removing the cardboard & wire.
