Here are the easy steps to repair upholstery tear:
- Cut: This is the first step to repair upholstery tear. Bring heavy-duty fabric from market and cut the fabric in the square piece to use as a patch.
- Peel Off: Torn the upholstery then peel off the back, then place patch there, use spoon handle to smooth out a patch for flat laying.
- Poultry Skewer: In order to pin the heavy-duty fabric use upholstery pin or poultry skewer pin to place the fabric.
- Glue: Use latex fabric glue on the patch with paintbrush, apply glue on edges of the ripped upholstery.
- Remove: Now, remove the pin from fabric and gently apply some pressure on the upholstery flap down. Pat this pin lightly to smooth out the fabric.
- Insert: This is the final step. Place more pins edges of the torn upholstery to keep the fabric in place. Remove the pins after few hours when the glue dry completely .
