The users can easily repair the stainless steel sink at home by gathering the below-mentioned materials and then follow the below-defined step by step procedure:

Materials Required

  • Wooden Block, Rubber Or Wooden Mallet Sandpaper
  • (Ammonia/Water Mix) & Spray Bottle
  • Epoxy Drain Stopper

Procedure

  • Take A Mallet: Start by trimming down the wooden block and then place it within the hole of the steel sink that needs to get fixed. The users need to apply the pressure on the block with one hand and tap down the hole by using the wooden or the rubber mallet beneath the sink. This will easily help the user to make up the smaller hole and that will make the users to easily patch it down.
  • Sand The Sink: The surrounding area of the hole needs to get sanded down so as to create the rough texture that will help in creating the stronger epoxy bond. The users are advised to sand down the beneath side of the sink than sanding down the inner side. Once the users finished off cleaning down the area, then they need to use the ammonia and the water mixture. They need to mix equal parts of the ammonia and the water within the spray bottle and then spray the solution to the entire surface of the sink and then wipe down the ammonia mixture with the clean rag so as to get rid of the dust and the debris particles.
  • Apply Epoxy: Once the users find out that the surface of the sink is cleaned off then they need to mix the epoxy material as per their packaging instructions. They need to mix enough paste to cover up their entire hole and then apply the epoxy material to the beneath sink side and spread it evenly with the gloved hands. The users are advised to make sure that they won't leave any air bubbled behind.
  • Adjust It: The users need to examine the inner sink side so as to be assured that the epoxy material won't come out of the hole. If in case the users noticed any unneeded material then they need to push it down to the hole. Then allow the epoxy material to get dried off completely.
  • Test The Patch: Once the users find out that the epoxy material is dried off completely then they need to turn on the water into the sink and allow the water to flow within the sink for few minutes so as to examine the leaks beneath it. The users then need to examine the sink for the 2nd time by placing the stopper within the drain and then fill the sink with the water. Then allow it to stand for 10 minutes so as to check the dripping beneath it.
