Step By Step Instructions
- First of all, detach any hardware or you can wrap it with the help of painter's tape. The hardware parts that you need to detach may include knobs, hinges, etc. They need to be detached due to the reason that they may be a hindrance in the repair work, particularly those that run by the sides of bookcases and cabinets.
- The next step is to cleanse your cabinets at least one week before starting the repairing process. The surface must be rigorously dry before using repair materials. Make sure to clean the cabinet with the help of mild soap and water, and then make it dry with the help of paper towels. Clean again with the help of a TSP (TriSodium Phosphate) solution that helps in getting rid of mold and mildew.
- Now, fill the area that has been chipped, with the help of a finishing filler, suitable for melamine.
