Ways To Repair/Fix Laminate Table Top

There are several types of damages that can occur on to the laminate table top such as scratches, dents, chips or gouges, and burn marks. In order to repair all such damages, the user needs to follow the below-given ways:
  1. Repair Scratches:
The scratches from the laminate table top can be removed by wiping them with furniture polish or stain. First, the user needs to dampen an old rag with furniture polish or stain and rub the scratches on the table top with a damp rag. It has been recommended by the experts to shake the furniture polish or stain bottle well before dampening an old rag with it. After rubbing the scratches with a damp rag, the user needs to wipe off the moisture with a dry rag in order to see the scratches have disappeared.
  2. Repair Dents:
In order to remove the dents from the laminate table top, the user needs to pour a few drops of water on to the dent and place an old rag over it. After that, the user needs to plug in the iron and put it on medium heat. Once the iron heats, the user needs to put it over the old rag and let the iron heat the surface for 20 seconds. After that, the dent from the laminate will pop up and the user needs to remove iron and rag to let the area cool down.
  3. Repair Chips Or Gouges:
The chips or gouges from the laminate top can be repaired by filling them up with wood filler stick. First, the user needs to remove the cap of wood filler stick and press the stick into the chip or gouge. The wood filler stick will adhere inside the gouge or chip and the user needs to fill the damaged area completely. After that, the user needs to wipe away excess filler from the surrounding area and smooth the wood filler with a table top. At last, the user needs to let the filler dry inside the chip or gouge overnight.
  4. Repair Burn Marks:
The burn marks from the laminate table top can be repaired with baking soda. First, the user needs to dampen a clean cloth with water and sprinkle some baking soda over the damp cloth. Alternatively, baking soda can be replaced with an abrasive cleanser that should be mild. After that, the user needs to rub the burn marks with the cloth until all the marks are removed. Then, the user needs to wipe off the baking soda from the table top by using a damp dishcloth. At last, the user needs to dry the laminate table top with a dry towel.
