  2. Cut The Loose Edges: Once the users have gathered all the materials then the users need to cut the loose corners of the large holes in order to build the square shape or a rectangular shape. The users then need to use the square framing and the dark pencil so as to mark the trimmed lines and then trim the marked lines by using the drywall saw.
  3. Place The Back Strips: Then users need to trim the two exact sized plywood pieces. The users are advised to trim a few inches larger as compared to the size of the hole. Then they need to put one of the trimmed plywood pieces directly into the large hole on the drywall according to the longer side so that the half of the plywood piece is inside the hole and the other half of the plywood is exposed. Then affix the strips by using the screws accordingly. Then users are advised to repeat the exact procedure while installing the other plywood piece.
  4. Place The Drywall Patch: Then they need to trim a drywall piece so as to get fitted properly into the hole and then affix the drywall patch to the hole by using the screws.
  5. Use The Joint Tape: Then use the joint tape to wrap up each one of the seams on the drywall and cut it down by using the utility knife. The users need to be very careful while using the tape on the drywall and make sure the tape is affixed without causing any wrinkles or the bulges.
  6. Use The Joint Compound: Then users need to cover the tape by using the joint compound and then allow the compound to get dried off completely and then use the knife to scrape off any clumps in the joint compound. Then apply two more layers of the joint compound followed by the scraping process in between both the coats. Then allow the compound material to get dried off completely.
  7. Use The Sandpaper: Then use the fine-grit sandpaper and rub it vigorously over the treated area. Then clean up all the sanding dust by using the dry rag.
