- Cut: Take the utility knife and cut one tile with the same.
- Analyze: Put putty knife beneath the tile and check.
- Soften Adhesive: To soften adhesive from beneath the tile with the help of the hot hair dryer.
- Remove Adhesive: One the adhesive is softened remove it using a putty knife.
- Repeat: Entire steps are supposed to be repeated for all old vinyl tiles to remove.
What Are The Ways To Remove Adhesive From Vinyl Flooring?
Follow the steps below to remove the adhesive from vinyl flooring:
- Scrape: The flat razor scraper is used to remove the adhesive globs from the flooring. Just make sure to scrape smoothly so that flooring will not get damaged.
- Protection: Before using Acetone ensure to use gloves and cover the face using a mask. It must be noted that acetone should be in the properly ventilated area.
- Container: Take a plastic container to add acetone into it.
- Application: Take an old toothbrush and dip it with acetone follow it by rubbing the area affected by the adhesive. Keep on scrubbing until the entire adhesive is removed.
- Old Rag: Wet the old area with acetone to clean all the adhesive leftover.
