Part I- Detaching The Single Vanes
- Detach The Frame: Start by detaching the frame of the blinds so as to disclose the topmost rail. Many of the vertical blinds consist of the frame that is an ornamented edge that covers up the rail at the topmost side where the frame is affixed. Then the users need to hold up the base of the frame and then slowly lift it in the upward direction so as to build up the minute gap in between it and the case that is holding up each one of the vanes. Part II- Detaching The Hardware Of The Blind
- Detach The Dot Chain: Start by detaching the dot chain from the rail of the blind. The vertical blind consists of the dot chain at the top by which the users can easily swivel the vane. Once the users removed the vane then they need to slowly lift the dot chain away from the rail of the blind. If the users are having the plan of keeping the blinds then they are advised not to damage the dot chain while detaching it. If in case their dot chain is damaged the users can easily purchase the new chain at their nearby hardware store.
- Release The Spring: Then they need to use the flat-headed screwdriver so as to liberate the spring case away from the brackets of the rail. The users need to analyze rail back so as to find out the brackets that are acquiring it in its place. Once they located the brackets they need to insert the flat-headed screwdriver at the spring case of each one of the brackets. Then they need to twirl the screwdriver gently till the spring is freed.
- Detach The Rail: Then they need to take the rail of the blind away from the wall and to do so they need to grasp the rail gently once the users freed the spring within the bracket. Then they need to slowly lift the rail distant from the blind brackets. If in case the rail of the blind does not come downwards conveniently then the users need to examine the brackets once again so as to be assured about the release of the spring.
- Detach The Brackets: Then the users need to detach the brackets and then fill up the holes if the users are not having any plan of replacing them. Then they need to use the flat-headed screwdriver so as to detach all the minute screws that are affixed with the brackets to the wall. In order to conceal the holes the users are advised to apply the joint compound directly to the holes and make it spread evenly by using the putty knife respectively. Once the compound is dried off completely then the users need to paint down that area.
