Steps & Items Needed For Removing Scratches From Corian Countertop

Any scratched as well as the blotched solid-surface countertops draw away from the overall decor & feel of the entire kitchen. Regrettably, the solid-surface counters, like Corian, can get scratched by various reasons including the knives, & harsh cleaners, which can also dull their appearance commonly. Fix all these scratches as they occur by gently buffing them out. If you are going to remove scratches from your Corian countertop, then you need to gather all the required items and follow the steps carefully:

Things Needed

  • Mild Abrasive Liquid Cleaner
  • Sponge
  • Peach-Colored Scouring Pad
  • Aqua-Colored Scouring Pad
  • Gray-Colored Scouring Pad

Steps For This Process

  • First of all, start squirting a small amount of a liquid & then delicately abrasive cleaner to the affected area of your Corian countertop. You need to work a sponge through with the cleaner by using a circular motion. Press down comprehensively on your sponge as you work to help for removing any residue or cleanser buildup that may be inside in the scratched affected area. Rinse well your countertop with clean water.
  • You need to work with a peach-colored scouring pad over the scratched affected area. Simply hold your pad against your counter gently & pull it back & forth & that too in a straight-line motion over the scratched area.
  • Next change the direction of your scouring pad over the scratched area & now the new direction is perpendicular to the earlier direction. Continue your work by using only a light touch, pressing down too hard will only deepen your scratched area.
  • Now dry your Corian periodically and also look at the scratched area. Your Corian countertop may emerge lighter in color or duller in the area that the scratches happened but don't worry because this is normal & nothing to worry about at this time. But you need to stop using your peach-colored pad once the scratch is no longer visible, disregarding of the condition of your area.
  • Make your Corian counter wet again and also rub an aqua-colored scouring pad over on the affected area. You need to use the same light touch by moving your pad in the same uninterrupted direction over your dull area. The aqua-colored pad is the best in order to bring the Corian counter back to the original texture in case your countertop is dull in finish.
  • Then use a gray-colored scouring pad over the affected area, in case an aqua-colored pad does not have any effect on glossy finish Corian countertop. Continue your work by using a light touch & working your pad in a single direction at a time until your dull area matches or comes close to matching the rest of your Corian countertop.
  • Finally, you need to wipe a coat of solid-surface Corian countertop polish if in case it is glossy or semigloss in the finish. Your countertop polish will restore the last of your dull area and make the scratched area disappear.
