Security doors are most of the time made of metal & these metal doors are long-lasting that can last for a long period of time, in other words, we can say these metal doors are very much durable. Step By Step Process

  1. First of all, you need to delicately scuff away the rust with the help of a wire brush. While doing so it is possible that you will remove some paint as well, so you need to take care not to apply too much pressure and also prevent scratches to occur on the metal surface.
  2. If in case you feel that the rust is not eliminated completely, then you need to use a small sandpaper piece in order to polish down the rusty surface in a circular motion. Make sure to get rid of the dust as well as dirt with the help of a soft brush.
  3. Now, you need to soak a sponge in a vinegar solution & then apply it onto any unfinished rust and give it at least 30 minutes to settle down. If desired, you can apply more vinegar.
  4. For any more indications of rust, you can also make a mixture composed of baking soda and water. Spread this mixture to the area that is mostly affected by the rust and wait 30 minutes. And then you need to cleanse it with the help of a soft cloth afterward.
  5. Once you get rid of all of the rust, you can cleanse the door with the water and regular detergent. Cleanse rigorously and make it dry with the help of a towel. Finish this job by spreading a rust adhesive over the entire door from top to bottom. Make this adhesive to dry for several days & after it dries completely, then you can also paint the entire metal door.
