Steps For This Process

  1. First of all, you need to place a piece of paper towel over the marker ink stain affected area instantly upon making the mark on your pine wood furniture. Press your paper towel onto your wood to soak up as much of the marker ink as possible from the furniture surface.
  2. Now you need to squeeze a dime-sized drop of regular using toothpaste onto your rag. Wipe the applied toothpaste into your wood surface over the top of the marker stain. Move the rag forth and back mildly across the stain by following the wood furniture grain.
  3. Then you need to rinse your applied toothpaste from your rag with the help of clean water. Dip your rag in soapy water and ring it over your sink to remove any dripping water from your rag. Wipe your applied toothpaste residue from your pinewood furniture with your rag. Dry the furniture surface with a dry rag.
  4. Next you need to spray or dab penetrating oil onto the permanent marker stain affected area, covering its surface wholly, if the marker ink is still there on the wood furniture, then you need to press a piece of your plastic wrap over the oil-covered stain. Leave the applied oil for at least 5 minutes to infiltrate the ink.
  5. Now you need to dip your rag in soapy water. Ring out any extra moisture from your rag so that it will remain damp but not dripping too wet. Pull your plastic wrap off the wood furniture and discard it in your trash bin. Wipe the applied oil from the wood furniture with the help of a rag.
  6. After that, you need to place one to two tablespoons of rottenstone powder in any plastic container if the permanent marker ink is still visible on your wood furniture surface. Simply now you need to add 2-3 drops of boiled linseed oil, lemon oil, or you can also add sewing machine oil to your rottenstone powder. Stir all the materials together with the help of a plastic spoon. Add further oil if essential, only one drop at a time to make a thick paste.
  7. Now you need to dip a corner of your soft cloth into the rottenstone powder paste. Rub this paste delicately and gently onto your wood furniture over top of the permanent ink marker. Move your cloth in the same direction as your wood's grain. Stop rubbing your wood instantly after the permanent marker disappears from your wood.
  8. Finally you need to spray your wood polish onto the wood table surface if you see that the marker ink is still visible on your wood furniture then you need to rub the polish into your wood with the help of a soft cloth.
