Ways To Remove Paint From Stained Wood
While remodeling or repainting the home, it is quite possible that some of the paint can drip or splatter on to the stained wood flooring without the knowledge of the user. The ways to remove paint from the stained wood are as follows:
- Determine Paint Type:
First, the user needs to determine the type of paint he wants to remove as oil-based paint can be removed with paint thinner and the water-based paint can be removed with a clean towel and warm water. - Remove Water Based Paint:
In order to remove water-based paint from the stained wood, the user needs to dip a clean towel into the hot water and wipe down any fresh paint with it from the stained wood. In case, the paint on the wood has already dried, the user can loosen it up with hot water before scrubbing it off with a sponge. - Remove Oil Based Paint:
The oil-based paint can be removed from the stained wood with paint thinner. First, the user needs to apply a very small amount of paint thinner on a rag with which he has to wipe the paint in circular motions. It has been recommended by the experts to use paint thinner sparingly in order to prevent the finish of other areas that were not exposed to the paint. - Remove Large Droplets Of Dried Paint:
