How To Remove Paint From Laminate Cabinets?
Laminate cabinets give an appearance similar to the real wood that makes them a popular choice for any home. Laminate is very easy to clean and is very much cheaper than real wood furniture. In order to remove paint from laminate cabinets, the user needs to follow the below-given steps:
- Prepare A Solution:
First, the user needs to prepare a solution containing rubbing alcohol, water, and vinegar by mixing them in equal proportions in a bowl. Once the mixture concoction well, the user needs to add 5-10 drops of dishwashing detergent into it but the detergent must not contain dyes. The user needs to mix all the ingredients until they are blended.
- Apply Solution:
After that, the user needs to apply a solution on to the painted areas of the laminate cabinet by using a white & clean cotton cloth dipped in the mixture. The user needs to rub the cloth over the paint by applying even & quick strokes and then allowing the surface to air dry before proceeding forward.
- Apply Nail Polish Remover:
The next step will be to apply a small amount of nail polish remover on to the laminate cabinet and allow it to sit on the paint for not more than 10 minutes. The nail polish remover must contain acetone and after 10 minutes, it should be removed using a clean cloth and fresh water.
- Remove Remaining Paint:
After removing the nail polish, the user needs to inspect the cabinet again and look for remaining paint to which he can use a nail polish remover for the second time. The user needs to apply a nail polish remover using a dry & clean cloth by rubbing it on to the paint until the paint fades away. After that, the user needs to apply the vinegar and water mixture on to the cabinet again.
- Clean Rest Of The Cabinet:
The last step will be to wipe the cabinet with a clean cloth dampened with water and rubbing the faded colors with the cloth as well. Once completed, the user needs to let the cabinet air dry. In Case some paint is left on the cabinet, the user can apply a small amount of nail polish remover to it.
