What Is The Way To Remove Paint From Wicker?

Both wicker and outdoor furniture look fabulous and enhance the beauty of the surroundings when painted beautifully. But after prolonged exposure to the outdoor elements, there may be a need to remove the old paint with the new one.
  1. Stripping: Before application of the new paint make sure to strip entire old paint from the wicker surface with paint/ varnish remover using a paintbrush.
  2. Scrub: Apply mineral spirits over the remaining paint with a paintbrush having 1/2" stiff bristles.
  3. Water: Wash wicker with forceful water using the garden hose to clean all the paint residue.
  4. Reapply The Paint/ Varnish Remover: Reapplication of paint/varnish remover is recommended and allow it to stay there for nearly 20 minutes.
  5. Coarse Rag: Once dried scrub the paint using the coarse rag to clean the paint.
  6. Second Coat: Apply second coat of the remover and follow by cleaning it with the synthetic pad. Once done wipe entire piece using mineral spirits.
  7. Hard To Reach Area: Dip the toothpaste into mineral spirits to clean hard to reach areas.
