Steps To Get Rid Of Dried Paint From Hardwood Floors

To remove the dried paint from the hardwood floor is not an easy task to do. The paint on the floors can be oil-based or water-based. Oil-based paint is very difficult to remove and water-based paint can be removed easily. Using any type of cleaner to remove the old paint may damage the floor. So, some steps are given below to remove old paint from floors safely:
  1. Identify: First step is to identify the type of paint. Water-based paint can be removed by the use of soap and water.
  2. Paper Towel: Take a wet paper towel and clean the stained/painted area of the wood floor. The painted area will become moist and after some time remove the wet paint with the clean rag.
  3. Remove: Now take a dull knife and smoothly remove the paint without causing damage to the finish of the floor.
  4. Denatured Alcohol: Apply less amount of denatured alcohol on the rag and clean the oil-based paint from the wood floor. Smoothly clean the paint on the wood floor until the paint is removed completely from the hardwood floor.
  5. Dry: Last step is to dry the hardwood floor with a paper towel.
