Three Easy & Simple Steps Of Removing Milk Stains From Carpet

In spite of the old saying about not worrying too much over spilled milk, it still needs full attention as soon as possible, because the sooner you deal with milk stains the better it is for your carpet. Immediately the milk goes into or through your carpet or fabric it starts to thicken and turn sour and apart from the unpleasant odor it creates, it can also cause staining that may not be easy to remove. As soon as you find milk stains on your carpet, you need to remove them quickly without letting them set on the carpet. In order to get rid of milk stains from the carpet, go through the below mentioned easy steps carefully:
  1. Blot The Milk With A Paper Towel Or An Absorbent Cloth: Immediately after witnessing the spill on the carpet, take paper towels or a clean, white, absorbent cloth and then blot the stain affected area with utmost care. Totally dependent on some of the factors like depth of the pile, the amount of the spill, and the length of time that has passed, the milk may need some time to soak up deep into the fibers and underlayment. If this is the case, exert pressure on the area in order to force the milk up out of the foam or cloth used to pad or stuff below as well as onto your cloth or towel. Continue doing this as long as the cloth or paper towels come away dry, to soak up as much of the liquid as possible.
  2. Remove Residue, If Necessary: If you didn’t find the spill as long as after the milk had time to dry, before washing the stain, thoroughly sweep as much of the dried milk away as you possibly can, and vacuum or pick up the residue and get rid of it. Smoothly spray the area with water and put or spread a paste of laundry soap using a toothbrush. Use a cool, damp cloth in order to rinse, and cleanse the area dry using another clean, dry towel to fully get rid of the residue.
  3. Wash The Carpet With A Solution Of Cold Water And Dish Soap Or Hand Soap: Finally, take a bowl and add one cup of cold water with numerous drops of smooth dish soap or hand soap and mix softly in order to combine. Soak a clean & soft, lint-free cloth into the solution and then squeeze and twist out as much of the liquid as you can as long as the material is damp, not wet. Start the work from the outer edge of the spill towards the center and smoothly blot and then wipe the stain. Rinse your sponge or cloth regularly as long as the water runs clear, and finish by rinsing one final time before drying the area using a clean, dry cloth.
