Steps To Get Rid Of The Laminate Flooring On Concrete

  1. Protection: Before going for the process wear the protective gloves and boots, because the laminate floor is very sharp-edged and can easily slice through the skin.
  2. Baseboards: Remove all the furniture from the room and start removing the baseboards that cover the edges of the flooring, with the help of the utility knife cut top edge of all the baseboard molding.
  3. Slide: Now Slide a drywall knife between the baseboard and wall, it should be 6 inches. The knife will protect the wall from any damage while prying. Carefully insert a flat bar between the board and knife.
  4. Transition Strips: In case of the transition strips use the j end of the bar under the strip and carefully pry it, then remove the screws that hold the retaining channel to floor.
  5. Laminate Floor: Now remove the laminate floor by sliding the j end of the flat bar in the gap that is between the first row and wall.
  6. Type Of Laminate Flooring: In case of the Floating laminate planks they will separate from adjacent as it is bent up or If it’s glued, then grab the plank with the hands and snap it back until the glue breaks.
  7. Chisel: Once the first row is completely removed then carefully slide the chisel under the additional and remove the planks one after another.
  8. Subfloor: Now remove the foam padding from the subfloor, in case the laminate is glued than use the floor scraper and heat gun, so that residue is removed.
