5 Easy Steps To Get Rid Of Carpet Glue From Wood Subfloor

The layer that is beneath the floor is termed as the subfloor. The wood subflooring provides immense support to the flooring. Here are some of the steps by which the users can easily remove or get rid of carpet glue from Wood Subfloor:
  1. Gather All The Materials And Tools: Firstly the users need to start by collecting all the tools and the materials like rubber gloves, mineral spirits, medium-sized bucket, rags, goggles, putty knife, dryer and a soft sponge that they require while performing this task.
  2. Put On Gloves And Goggles: It is very important for the users to wear the hand gloves and goggles in order to prevent the direct reaction of chemicals to hand and eyes.
  3. Apply The Mineral Spirit: Pour enough amount of the mineral spirit into the medium sized bucket and then dip the soft rag in the bucket. Then rub the mineral spirit soaked rag over the entire surface of the glued area on the wooden floor. Let the floor to soak the mineral spirit for almost half an hour.
  4. Use The Putty Knife: After 30 minutes use the putty knife and remove the unwanted glue from the floor. Use the clean sponge to wipe away all the residue accordingly.
  5. Using The Heat Gun Or Dryer: The other simplest method by which the users can easily remove the glue from the subfloor is by using the heat gun or dryer sand then applying the heat to the glue till it softens. Then remove the softened glue by using the putty knife and then wipe away the remaining glue residue by using the soft sponge respectively.
