Steps & Items Needed To Get Rid Of Blood Stains From Mattress

The mattress is a large pad in a rectangular shape to give support to the body for reclining. The material used for making a mattress are cotton, foam rubber, straw, etc . Air and the water-filled mattress are also available in the market. The mattress can easily be damaged with sharp items like a knife, nails, etc or get stained easily by blood, tea, coffee or with cold drink spills. So in order to avoid these types of damages and stains, the user needs to follow certain steps. Steps & items needed for the procedure are mentioned below:

Items Needed

  1. Cold Water.
  2. Baking Soda.
  3. Salt, Hydrogen Peroxide And Corn Starch.
  4. Salt, Hydrogen Peroxide And Ammonia.
  5. Meat Tenderizer.
  6. Plastic Putty Knife.
  7. Vacuum Cleaner.
  8. Dry Towel.


Steps

  1. Cold Water: The first step is that the user needs to make clean cloth wet in cold water and scrub the cloth over the affected area for nearly 2-3 minutes.
  2. Baking Soda: Now mix 1 part of baking soda with 2 parts of cold water in a bowl. The user needs to apply the paste of baking soda on the blood stain with a clean cloth and let sit the mixture for 30 minutes then rinse the area that has been affected with a cloth soaked in cold water. Now dab a dry towel on the blood stain to remove moisture.
  3. Corn Starch: Take a cup and fill corn starch in it and mix the starch with one tablespoon of salt and a half cup of hydrogen peroxide in a water bowl until the paste is ready. Use spatula or spoon to apply the paste on the bloodstain then let the paste dry for nearly 1 hour. After the paste dries start scraping the paste with a plastic putty knife before vacuuming the mattress.
  4. Ammonia: Now make a paste of one tablespoon of ammonia with 1 cup of water in a water bowl. Take spatula or spoon to apply a mixture of both the ammonia and water on the bloodstain. Now let the paste dry for nearly 1-2 hours. After the paste dries now use a plastic putty knife to scrape the paste from the mattress, and then again vacuum the mattress.
  5. Meat Tenderizer: The final step is to make a paste of 1 tablespoon of meat tenderizer with 2 teaspoons of cold water in a water bowl. Now rub the paste on the blood stain and let sit the paste for nearly 1 hour. Now the user has to clean the area with rag cloth soaked in cold water. Dab a dry towel to remove moisture from the mattress.
