How To Put Together A Metal Bed Frame: Step By Step Guide Of Assembling Metal Bed Frame

Step By Step Guide Of Assembling The Metal Bed Frame

The metal bed frames usually are available in all shapes, styles as well as types. The adjustable bed frame, the most common frame that is used for the twins, full beds, queens as well as kings goes together easily. All the metal bed frames mostly follow certain steps. The user might need a helping hand to put the frame together. Assembling the bed frame is quick as well as an easy process, the steps are mentioned below:

Step 1: Measure The Bed

The first and foremost step is to measure down the width of the box spring because this is the part of the bed that will fit inside the metal bed frame. Note down the measurement that you take.

Step 2: Lay Out The Pieces

  • Lay down the L-shaped side rails on the ground exactly near the space where the bed is going to be installed, keep the bracketed ends right on the top of the frame for the purpose of headboard.
  • Now unfold all the support bars from the side rail at an angle of 90-degree to side rails.
  • The user also must have the four or even more glides that will be attached to the frame as the feet. Now the user needs to look for the 2 L-shaped plastic end caps that will be inserted at the end of the side rails right at the foot of the metal bed.
  • In case of the keyhole-type frame, lay down the expander bars at the foot and the head of the bed after the supports are unfolded.

Step 3: Secure The Supports

  • On each arm of the E over the left side slide the piece which has a wing-nut fastener, only in case if the user has that type of bed frame, and lay down the support starting from the right side then over the left sidebar support.
  • Slide-in the fastener on both bars and then tighten loosely to grab both of them, repeat the same process for each of the horizontal support.
  • For the keyhole bed frame type, place the small expander bar that is of the 2 bars which protrude right from the side rails and also the center support bar to the top as well as bottom of the frame, the user needs to align with the holes that are in the frame on the box spring width.
  • Place the bolts in the bars into the holes so that the 2 sides, as well as the center support, are properly connected.
  • In order to keep them in place the user needs to lightly fasten all the nuts on them if they have them or simply slide the bar to lock up the bolts or pins in the holes.

Step 4: Measure The Frame's Width

  • Now in this step measure down the distance between all the angled L-shaped side rails so that it will match to the box spring's width, in order to fit the box spring measurement adjust the distance between them if needed.
  • Tight all the slide bracket's wing nut once the measurement is right.
  • Repeat the same process for each of the support arms.
  • Now for a center support frame, after the width measurement is correct, tight all the nuts over the bolts with the help of the wrench if included.

Step 5: Attach The Headboard

  • Secure the headboard, if the user has one, to the metal frame attaching it by simply inserting the bolts into the brackets as well as through the holes right in the headboard.
  • Also add the washer as well as nuts on the opposite side of the headboard so that they will face to the wall, and tighten.
  • Repeat the same process for each of the hole, bolt, as well as for nut that goes into the bracket.
