How To Polish Polyurethane Hardwood Floors: Steps To Polish Polyurethane Hardwood Floors

Steps To Polish Polyurethane Hardwood Floors

Polyurethane acts as a protective layer that soaks up the scratches from the hardwood floor surface and protects it from being damaged. By polishing the polyurethane on the hardwood floor makes it look shiny and smooth. The steps are mentioned below to polish the surface with polyurethane:
  1. Saturate Sandpaper: The first step is to soak the sheet of sandpaper in the water.
  2. Sand The Surface: Sand the polyurethane surface with sandpaper and use the sandpaper in a circular motion. So that all the waste residue and imperfections get removed away from the surface and the surface of the floor becomes smooth.
  3. Clean: Then use a pH-neutral cleanser with a sponge to clean the surface and remove the sanded dust particles from the surface. Wash the surface with clean water and dry the surface with a lint-free cloth.
  4. Apply Cleaner: Spread the cleaner on the surface in backward and forward motion. This cleaner will take away the tiny scratches and dullness from the polyurethane surface and leave it to dry.
  5. Buff The Finish: Remove the cleaner from the polyurethane surface with the help of a wet clean cloth. Then buff the surface with a dry cloth to look shiny.
