The given methods will easily clean your kitchen cabinets and will also restore the shine of your old kitchen cabinets. Here is the list of required items and 3 easy methods with a step-step guide:

Things You Will Need

  • All-Purpose Cleaner & Wood Cleaner
  • White Vinegar & Spray Bottle
  • Sponge & Towel Or Rag
  • Ammonia & Baking soda
  • Nylon-Bristled Scrub Brush Or Soft Toothbrush

Method 1: Using Vinegar

  1. In order to polish your kitchen cabinets you need to mix 1/2-cup of all-purpose cleaner, white vinegar or you can also use a wood cleaner (if your cabinets are made from wood) with 1/2-cup of water in your spray bottle and shake it well to mix the solution.
  2. Next you need to spray your kitchen cabinets with this mixture, only one cabinet at a time. Scrub the surface of your kitchen cabinets with the help of a soft sponge in a circular motion.
  3. Once finished, now you need to rinse your sponge and then wring it out, and now wipe your kitchen cabinets surface again to remove any remaining cleanser from it.
  4. Finally dry your cabinets with the helo of your soft towel or rag.

Method 2: Using Ammonia

  1. Firstly you need to wet your sponge with some clean water and then wring it out.
  2. Next, open all the windows of your kitchen area and make sure to put rubber gloves on your hands for safety purpose.
  3. After following all the previous steps, now you need to pour a small amount of ammonia(undiluted) directly on your sponge. Clean from the bottom of your kitchen cabinets towards up, which will avert the ammonia from dripping down your arms while you work with it.
  4. Next you need to wipe your cabinet and then scrub it gently to cut through any visible grease.
  5. Now you need to rinse and wring out your sponge. Wipe the applied ammonia off your kitchen cabinets.
  6. Finally, dry your cabinet by using a soft towel or rag.

Method 3: Using Baking Soda

  1. You just need to mix 1/2-cup of baking soda with 1/4-cup of clean water to make a paste.
  2. Next you need to dip your damp sponge, nylon-bristled scrub brush or soft toothbrush, into the baking soda paste.
  3. Scrub your kitchen cabinets gently. Leave the baking soda on your kitchen cabinet for at least 2-4 minutes.
  4. After the completion of the time, wipe away the applied baking soda paste by using your damp sponge.
  5. Finally, dry your cabinets by using a soft towel or rag.

Tip & Warning

  1. Tip: For quicker rinsing and essential dirt transfer you need to use your second sponge and a bucket of clean water to rinse your kitchen cabinets.
  2. Warning 1: You need to know that never use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads on your painted cabinets because they can easily scratch or dull the applied paint.
  3. Warning 2: Open all of your windows and turn on the stove vent or a fan to contribute proper ventilation when using the undiluted ammonia.
  4. Warning 3: Never mix bleach cleansers or other cleaners with ammonia.
