Method 1: Prepare The Surface

  1. Detach The Cabinet Doors: Start by detaching the doors of the cabinets by unbinding the metal hardware like knobs, hinges, and screws. Try to place the metal hardware in a bowl in order to use them again in the future.
  2. Clean The Surface: Once the doors are detached clean up all the dust and the debris particles from the surface of the thermofoil cabinet and doors by using the ammonia cleaner. Once the users have applied the cleaner the users then need to allow the cabinets to get dried completely.
  3. Use The Sandpaper: Once the cabinets are dried then use the fine-grit sandpaper and rub it vigorously over the cabinet surface in order to remove the existing wood finish. Then use a soft rag to clean up the sanding dust accordingly.
