  1. Clean: Begin with cleaning the old finish with the help of a solution like 1/2 cup of trisodium phosphate detergent per gallon of water, then wash the furniture with the solution.
  2. Sand: After that sand the area with the help of the 120 grit sandpaper, for the turnings and carvings, sand with the help of hand.
  3. Repairs: Look for any repairs if there is any then repair with glue or replacing lifting veneer. In case of the nicks and gouges use the epoxy wood filler. After the repair work is done and again sand with 150-grit sandpaper, make sure to flatten all the wood filler spots.
  4. Primer: Now apply the single coat of high-solids wood primer. The paint sticks better to surface with primer, simply apply the primer with a paintbrush or Spray it.
  5. Oil-based And Latex Enamel: Once the primer is dried, then apply the Oil-based and latex enamel as it is the most reliable paint for wood furniture.
  6. Dry: Allow the paint to dry before going for the next coat.
