Just follow each and every method & steps carefully to get the best results of your hard work:

Method 1: Under The Surface

Steps to paint the table under the surface are given below:
  1. Spread: First you have to spread 2 sawhorses into place to support your tabletop in your painting work area. Now, cover the sawhorse tops by using a soft cloth in order to decrease the risk of scraping your glass.
  2. Lift: After placing the sawhorses now, lift your glass tabletop off from the table and gently point it, upside-down, on the sawhorses. Take help of someone if your tabletop is particularly large & heavy.
  3. Wipe: Wipe the surface of your glass table by using a clean rag which is soaked in rubbing alcohol to remove any grease, oily or other surface marks from your glass table. You can also use white vinegar or an over-the-counter glass cleaning solution. Allow the surface of your table to dry for a sparkling clean shine.
  4. Apply: Now, it's time to apply the glass paint according to the paint's manufacturer. If you are using spray paint then remember that the spray paints should be applied 8 inches (20.32cm) from the surface, move your paint can back and forth at a rate of nearly 1 foot per second. Apply a thin layer of either paint type, then add a 2nd coat if needed for good coverage.
  5. Dry: This is your final step for painting under the surface. After applying the paint now let the paint dry thoroughly for a whole night. Once dried fully then lift the tabletop from the sawhorses and place it on your table.

Method 2: Over The Top

Here are the steps to paint over the top:
  1. Drop cloths: First spread drop cloths around your floor under your table, and then apply painter's tape to the framework of your glass tabletop.
  2. Clean: Now, clean the tabletop by using a glass cleaning product or white vinegar, apply it with a paper towel or clean rag. Rinse with water, and cleaning implements or wipe the table dry.
  3. Apply: Also remember to apply a bonding paint primer, this primer is also known as an adhesion primer, use it to the tabletop by using a pro-grade paintbrush. Let the bonding primer dry for nearly 2 hours.
  4. Paintbrush: Now, brush on a flat paint(acrylic-latex) by using a paintbrush (pro-grade), which will decrease the visual aspect of brush strokes. Allow the paint 2 hours to dry. Apply a 2nd coat if needed for complete color coverage.
  5. Polyurethane Varnish: Use the brush (pro-grade) to apply a thin layer of water-based varnish (clear polyurethane varnish) over the painted surface of your table. The polyurethane supply increases hardness, water-resistance, and gloss to your glass table, Allow the polyurethane to dry for 3 hours or as directed by the varnish manufacturer. Add a second coat and then let the final coat of polyurethane dry overnight.
  6. Remove: Remove the painter's tape and drop cloths, but wait for 1-2 more days before placing objects on the tabletop.
