How To Move A Pool Table: Easy Step By Step Guide Of Moving Pool Table

Easy Step By Step Guide Of Moving Pool Table Across The Room

Moving a pool table across the room takes a lot of effort. There are a number of ways that are used for moving the pool table and some of the best and simple ways are shown below:

Step 1: Wooden Dollies

In order to move the pool table across the room use at least 4 wooden dollies. These wooden wheeled dollies will help to move the heavy pool table easily. Wrap all the edges of the dollies in carpet or fabric as this will help to prevent the legs of the pool table from getting scratched.

Step 2: Position The Equipment

Place the dollies around each corner of the pool table as this will prepare each dolly for being slid under the legs. Clear all the area around the pool table so that there will be no objects which might get caught in the wheels of the dollies and will make it difficult to slide the dollies in the place. While clearing the objects from around as well as under the pool table, it is important to remove any throw rugs, that can bunch and hamper the rolling motion of the dolly.

Step 3: Lift One End Of The Pool Table Up

The user must be able to do this alone, but since the pool tables are very heavy, a helping hand can considerably lessen the effort. Carefully tilt the pool table off from the ground but from one of the longer sides. Try to lift with the legs to prevent injury to the back.

Step 4: Move The Dollies Into Place

If the user is doing this alone, then snag the dolly with the foot and then push it into the place under the pool table. It is advisable that the user must be sure not to overexert themselves in this maneuver or lose the grip, dropping the pool table can damage it. If the user has the helping hand, then let him roll the wooden dolly into place. Repeat the same process for all legs of the end of the pool table.

Step 5: Brace The Dollies

When raising up the other end of the pool table, the user will be applying force to the table which can cause it to roll in the backward direction on the dollies in order to prevent this lock the wheels, or place an object that will jam the wheels of the dollies, and will make each leg stationary.

Step 6: Lift The Other End Of The Pool Table

It is important to double-check that the dollies are within foot-reach or that the helping hand is ready to slide-in the dollies into the right place, after that lift up the other side of the table. Place the other 2 dollies under both legs of that end.

Step 7: Free The Braced Dollies

Unlock the 2 dollies after that walk the path on which the user has planned on wheeling the pool table. Move all the carpets as well as the other items that can bunch or otherwise jam the wheels of the dollies.

Step 8: Apply Firm And Steady Pressure

Due to the weight of the pool table, if in case it gains too much speed then it will be nearly impossible or difficult to stop. If the user has a helping hand, then push the table from the opposite corners from the same side and, in a controlled way, move it across the room. If doing this alone, then take a central position, at the end of the longways side, that is between the 2 corner pockets.

Step 9: Brace A Set Of Dollies

Remove the dollies that are opposite to the braced dollies first. Before doing this it is advisable to check the position as well as the alignment of the pool table.

Step 10: Retrieve The Dollies

Lift up from the middle of the long side and have the helping hand to quickly pull out the dollies free. Then carefully lower it down. If the user is doing this alone, then easily kick the dollies.
