- Rags Or Tack Cloths.
- Paint Brushes Or Rollers.
- Polyurethane.
- Wax.
- Steel wool.
- Sandpaper.
- Drop cloths.
- Paint.
- Wood Stain.
Steps
- Prepare: First the user needs to prepare the area where work needs to be done. Use Sawhorse and lay down the drop cloth under it. Remove any handles and pieces from wood furniture.
- Sanding: Start sanding the wood furniture with small grit sandpaper (60-80) to make the surface smooth for rustic method. The user can also use the palm sander with medium grit paper.
- Cleaning: Clean the wood surface from dust and dirt with rags or with tack cloths. If the user wants to clean the dust instantly use a vacuum cleaner.
- Paint The Wood: Start painting the wood now with a thin paintbrush or with the paint roller. Use the best latex paint for best results.
- Waxing: Rub the wax of candle directly on wood moslty on edges and corners and apply a second coat of latex paint on wood.
- Rustic: Use steel wool or sandpaper to give a rustic look to wood furniture on edges and corners.
- Wood Stain: After doing the rustic method now apply stain on wood furniture. Use a thin paintbrush for best results.
- Apply Polyurethane: Apply some polyurethane to give an extra protection to wood furniture and let the wood dry for maximum 24 hours.
