Two Easy Methods Of Making The Knotted Curtains

The curtains are regarded as one of the important fixtures for different rooms, but some times it can be difficult to arrange the curtains in a proper way. If in case the user wants to shorten the curtains, then the best way is to use the knots in order to adjust the drapes. But if you want to tie the knot, that time you need to take the help of drapery tie and wall hooks. The two easy methods of making the knotted curtains are mentioned below:

Method 1: Creating A Basic Knot

  1. Simply cluster the fabric of the curtain in a signal column with the hand. Check whether the curtains are attached to a rod or not. Slide the curtain to the one side so that it forms a thick fabric column. At the same time, remove any of the cords or the tie-backs which may be currently attached with the curtain.
  2. From around the column now loop a thin portion of the curtain in the clockwise direction. With the help of one hand hold down the center part of the curtain, then use another hand for holding the outer edge of the fabric of the curtain. Wrap up the thin portion of fabric right behind the bunched fabric, after that, loop it back from all around the front portion.
  3. At the loose end of the fabric secure the knot. Now take the loose and one of the corners at the bottom of the curtain and then fix it right behind the section of the wrapped curtain. In order to make the knot strong tuck the curtain completely.

Method 2: Using Drapery Ties

  1. With the help of measuring tape, measure the window that will receive the knotted curtains. The length of the valance must be 1/4 to the height of the window plus 1 inch extra. For each of the knots leave the 4 inches of window width.
  2. Wash the curtains with the laundry soap of about 1/4 cup in the washing machine. After this, use the dryer in order to make the curtains dry completely. Then rip off the top, side as well as the bottom hems from the curtains by making small cuts with the help of the scissors on the fabric edge at the hem tops, holding the fabric in the hands as well as at the same time ripping the fabric.
  3. Rip the curtains into the 6-inch-wide strands simply by marking the sites of rip with the help of the fabric pencil as well as also making the small cuts exactly from the edge of the fabric. Cut out the strands to a length which is double 1/4 to the height of the window height and add 2 inches.
  4. Fold up one of the strand in the half widthwise as well as position the folded edge at the front of a curtain rod. Pull up both the ends of the strand on the back of the rod as well as through the loop that is made by the fold. Pull up both the ends in the down direction for creating a knotted strand. Repeat the process to knot all of the strands to the curtain rod.
