Steps For This Process

  • The tiebacks are bands and loops of the fabric whose main purpose is to hold your curtain and the drapery panels back from the center of the window. You can easily make curtain tie backs using a matching as well as attractive fabric. Tiebacks are mostly 1-4 inches wide. The user needs to remember that its length will totally depend on the amount of the curtain being pulled to the side. Before you make tiebacks, it is best to have your curtains sewn & installed.
  • Now, measure your curtain in order to determine the amount of the fabric required for your tie back. Simply draw the panel to the side of your window but be careful not to expose your window molding. Simply wrap a measuring tape around your panel at the regulate angle & make sure that the tape aligns with your tieback hook.
  • Next, measure & mark the width of your tie back fabric. Regulate the required width of your tie-back, double it & then add 1 inch. For illustration, you need to make a 4-inch tie back, multiply 4/2 then you need to add 1 for 10 inches. Continue your work with the example, you need to measure 10 inches from the top of your fabric & mark the reinstate.
  • Its time for measuring the length of your tie back. You need to add 1 inch to the taken length of your fabric & add interfacing support. Now you need to cut a strip of interfacing that is 1/2 inch longer & 1 inch wider than your fabric. Center the interfacing on your fabric fusible side down & fuse interfacing. Press your interfacing with a clothes iron according to the manufacturer's guidance.
  • Fold your fabric half in length in order to get the right side together. Now, pin together raw edges but reserve a 3-inch gap aperture in the center. You will now need this gap to turn your fabric inside out once it is stitched.
  • Next machine stitch a 1/2 seam from one end to opening. Simply use a backstitch & a few stitches in reverse to avert the thread from pulling out.
  • Lift the foot & move your fabric, drawing enough thread to reposition the fabric subordinate the foot on the other side of the beginning. Backstitch with a few stitches then continue your stitch process to the end.
  • Next, lay down the curtain tie back fabric flat having its seam at the center. Iron press your fabric seam allowance open.
  • Now, stitch a 1/2 inch seam across with the end of both sides. You need to use a backstitch at the start & end of each seam.
  • After that, turn the fabric right side out by inserting the tweezers & pulling the material through with the opening.
  • Now, hand stitch to the opening closed by using a slipstitch.
  • Next, you need to secure a pin-on tie back ring to your fabric on each end. You have to be sure that one hook is on the right side & another hook is on the wrong side.
  • Finally, attach your curtain tie backs to the holder on your wall. Now you need to draw the panel to one side of your window with your one hand. Simply hook your ring on the right side of your fabric to the holder & wrap it around the panel then you have to hook the other ring & the one sewn to the wrong side. Repeat with your curtain tie back on the opposite side of your window.
