  • 18- To 20-Inch Diameter Log
  • Measuring Tape
  • Chainsaw
  • Safety Protection
  • Draw Knife
  • Straight Sapling Sticks About 4 Inches In Diameter
  • Handsaw, Hammer & Chisel

Steps For This Process

After collecting all the required items you just now need to follow all the given steps to finish this project:
  1. First of all, you need to find a log about 18-20 inches in diameter. Now cut a 20inch long piece of your log with the help of a chain saw. You need to use only one half to make your stool. Store your log piece in a cool & dry place for at least 7 days because this will cause the bark to loose & also make it much lighter than before.
  2. Next, you need to peel off the loose bark by using your hand, also remove tough places with the help of a drawknife. This log half will be the top of your bar stool.
  3. Now you need to turn your log flat side up and then you have to make a 4" inch diameter & 2 "inch deep hole in each corner of your log half with the help of a chisel & your hammer. Try to make the holes as smooth as possible.
  4. Now line your inside of one of your holes in the log half by using the wood glue. Now stick one of the legs into the hole by using the wood glue.
  5. Allow the applied wooden glue to dry for a few minutes. Repeat the above process with all the remaining three legs. Allow the wood glue to set in for 1 hour before handling your stool.
  6. Flip your stool on the legs of it and then measure the distance across the front legs. Cut all the four 2" inch diameter sticks according to the taken measurement. Measure 12" inches from the bottom of your legs & place one of your 2" inches betwixt the front legs. Now you need to nail the stick securely in place. Repeat this process with the back legs and both sides of your bar stool.
  7. This is your final step, simply plaster the top of your bar stool with the help of wood glue. Carefully place the saddle on top of your bar stool. Allow the applied wood glue to dry over night.
