Ultimate & Easy Steps To Increase The Height Of Nightstand

The nightstand, also famously known as a night table or bedside table, is a small type of table that can be used at night beside your bed table. Or in other words, it is a coffee table that is used next to a bed at night time. If in case the user is feeling uncomfortable and want to adjust its height, they can do so easily. In order to raise or increase the height of a nightstand, follow the below-mentioned steps carefully and feel comfortable while using your nightstand:
  1. Wood Pieces: The first step is to find short wooden pieces that should be roughly the same in width as nightstand legs. The user can purchase them from a local hardware store but make sure to purchase the unfinished wood pieces or pre-made nightstand legs that can saw as needed.
  2. Turn The Nightstand: The next step is to flip it upside down and then mark the center of each leg. Place the nightstand face on the ground. With the help of a ruler, measure the center point of each leg. After that mark each spot using a pencil. While flipping the nightstand be careful to protect the surface of it from nicks or scratches if it is placed on a cement or stone floor.
  3. Drill Holes: Now drill the holes in the marked spots and then hammer tee nuts into the bottom of the legs. Use an electric drill for making a hole that is 0.25 inches deep at the bottom of each table leg. Then, insert the back of the tee nuts over the drilled holes. With the help of a hammer, gently tap the tee nuts into the wood. It is important to make sure that the surface of each hammer tee nut should be flush with the wood surface.
  4. Insert Hanger Bolts: The Hanger bolts are actually screws having bolts on the end of them. Measure as well as mark the center of every wooden extension. The user needs to drill a hole on each piece that should be roughly half the length of the hanger bolts, then secure the screw of the hanger bolts into the wood.
  5. Attach: Carefully screw down the bolts of each wooden extension into the hammer tee nut on each of the leg. Continue the screwing until they are firmly attached. Flip over the nightstand to check the evenness of the legs.
  6. Sand: With 100-grit sandpaper smooth the surface of the wooden extension as well as the bottom of the nightstand leg. Continue sanding process until the spot where the two parts meet looks seamless.
