Step By Step Process Of Crate Coffee Table Making

The crate coffee table is a gorgeous and functional table, that has a very beautiful wooden look and ample storage space. If you want to give your space a more amazing look by building your own crate coffee table, you can do it very easily. Simply follow the step by step process of crate coffee table making mentioned below:
  1. Sand And Prepare Crates: The first step is to remove all the jagged edges as well as loose wood with the help of sandpaper and electric sander. After the sanding is done then its time to remove all the dust from the crate with the help of clean cloth as this will not only clean the dust but will also remove the excess wood.
  2. Staining: After the above step is done then stain the crates. Apply the 2 coats of stain as this will help protect the wood. Once the first coat is dry then go for the second coat it's very important to allow ample dry time between applications.
  3. Arrange Crates: Now its time to arrange the crates in the table pattern. Use the sides of the crates as a tabletop, instead of using the bottom for the tabletop. The user will have a small square area right in the middle where the user will add the MDF sheet.
  4. L Brackets: Use the L brackets for attaching the crates together. Screw down the L-brackets right in the center of the inside of a table. Each of the brackets should fix one crate to the next, this will provide the user with the base.
  5. Add More Screws: Now to the outside area of the table add more screws this will help to secure the sides to each other strongly. 2 to 3 screws per crate side is enough to keep it in place.
  6. Add Legs: To the bottom of the table once the table is fully secure attach the legs. Screw each leg in right place on the bottom of all the four corners of the crate table. It's very important to make sure that legs end are fully flush with the sides and should not hang outside the table.
  7. Polyurethane: Spray the entire crate table with the polyurethane and then allow to dry. This will protect as well as seal the table for everyday use.
  8. Center-square: Its time to take the measurements for the center-square of the table. Make the square slightly small like 1/2 inch smaller than the table opening as this will help the MDF sheet to drop in easily.
