Method 1
- Strip: Whether the user is using the liming wax or paint, stripping is an important step, the finish needs to be stripped so that the effect of authentic lime wash is achieved. Simply apply the stripper to the area and let it soak for a few minutes, then apply the water to neutralize it and allow the wood to dry completely.

Method 2
The other method to get the limewash effect is by using the latex paint or primer but if the bare wood has knotty pine, that time the single coat of the sealer is important that will help to prevent the knotty pines from bleeding.
- Paint Or Primer: In order to apply the paint or primer, the first step is to thin the paint or paint into the thick creamy consistency and apply on the surface with the best quality paint brush.
- Wipe: In order to show off more grains wipe it off or simply leave it on to create a semi-opaque coating.
