Thing You Will Need

  • Measuring Tape
  • 1/2-Inch Foam Padding
  • Scissors
  • Plywood
  • Polyvinyl Chloride
  • Saw

Steps For This Process

  1. First of all, you need to rearrange your couch cushions, flipping them for getting a new cushion arrangement. Moving around your couch cushions repeatedly & constantly disseminate weight & keeps cushions plumper longer. Swap cushions around once a month to avert sliding or sagging.
  2. Now you need to unzip your cushion covers from your couch cushions. Wash your cushions cover in cool water or according to your cleaning guidance on the inner label. Some cushion covers may need dry cleaning. Cleaning your couch cushion covers tightens up your fabric and also keeps your foam taut. Place your cushion covers back on your cushions, then zip to them closed. Return the clean cushions to your sofa.
  3. Next you need to cut square sections of your foam to fit inside your cushions. Unzip your cushions and then add your foam sections to flatten up your cushions and also reduce sinking. Use a 1/2-inch foam, you need to add a 2nd layer if one layer is not enough for you. Rezip your cushions and then place them on your sofa.
  4. Now you need to remove your cushions from your couch. Measure the seating area of your couch. Then you need to place a sheet of your plywood and cut the plywood slenderly smaller than the measurements, in your seat area. Replace your couch cushions. Alternatively, you can use a section of the polyvinyl chloride to get a more flexible fit.
  5. Finally you need to measure your cushion sizes. Cut respective squares of your plywood small enough to fit inside your cushion. Unzip your cushion and then remove the foam pad. Place your plywood at the bottom. Position your foam pad over your plywood and then you need to zip your cushion back. Now you need to place your cushion, plywood side down, on your couch. Do these steps for all your cushions.
  6. A useful tip for you, use your throw pillows on your couch to provide guests with further support.
